DESCRIPTION:\nWhat is Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)?\n\nHazardous waste i
 s any discarded material that threatens public health\, safety\, and the e
 nvironment due to its chemical nature. Throwing these materials in the tra
 sh or sewer system puts oceans and groundwater at risk. Some household haz
 ardous wastes can be identified by having one of these words on the label:
  Flammable or combustible - can be set on fire easily\n\nExplosive or reac
 tive - can detonate or explode through exposure to heat\, sudden shock\, o
 r pressure.\n\nCorrosive - can destroy and cause burns to the skin and oth
 er living tissues.\n\nToxic or poison - capable of causing injury or death
  through ingestion\, inhalation\, absorption\, or injection.\n\nHave HHW t
 o Dispose of? Don’t throw household hazardous waste items in your trash 
 can–Let the Riverside County Department of Waste Resources properly disp
 ose of them for you! The City of Corona along with the Riverside County De
 partment of Waste Resources host bi-annual HHW Collection events in the Sp
 ring and Fall that are open not only to City of Corona residents\, but to 
 all Riverside County residents.\n\nSaturday\, March 14 and Sunday\, March 
 15\, 2025\, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.\, Corona City Hall Parking Lot\n\n**SPECIAL N
 OTE: HHW Collection Events will close during periods of inclement weather 
 or if unsafe conditions exist for the public and event staffHHW Collection
  Event GuidelinesHHW Collection Events provide you the opportunity to prop
 erly dispose of HHW\, including Electronic Waste (E-Waste)\, and it’s FR
 EE! Here are some important guidelines to follow: You may bring up to fift
 een (15) gallons of a hazardous liquid waste (including oil and fuel) or a
  total of 125 pounds maximum per car\, per trip. Multiple trips are allowe
 d. Keep original labels on containers. The container shall be marked and s
 ecured to prevent leaks. Do not mix materials. Containers holding gasoline
  will not be returned. Use a sturdy box to transport the HHW materials in 
 the trunk of your car. Sharps and needles need to be transported and provi
 ded to the County in either a sharps disposal container or a hard plastic 
 container such as an empty milk or juice jug or a large plastic jar\, no s
 oft material\, glass\, or paper carton containers will be processed.\n\nAC
 CEPTABLE ITEMS: Used Oil and Filters\, Latex/Oil-Based Paint\, Fluorescent
  Tubes/Bulbs\, Pesticides\, Cleaners BBQ & Camp Size Propane\, Aerosol Can
 s\, Antifreeze\, Auto/Household Batteries\, Garden Chemicals\, Pool Chlori
 ne\, TVs and Computers\, Electronic Waste\, Sharps\, Unused medication (ex
 cept controlled substances)‍\n\nUNACCEPTABLE ITEMS: Government\, Busines
 s\, Non-Profit\, or Out-of-County Hazardous Waste\, Explosives or Ammuniti
 on\, Controlled Substances\, Infectious Waste (except Sharps)\, Asbestos\,
  Radioactive Material (except smoke detectors)\, Remediation Material\, Co
 ntainers larger than 5 gallons or weighing more than 50 pounds\, Appliance
